Arlo Cristofaro is a shepherd and songwriter who lives and works in southern Minnesota. After spending the first half of his twenties repeatedly traversing the center of the continent, he returned home, moved to the country in a converted school bus, and began raising a flock of rambouillets. On weekends, he would drive his pickup to The Driftless, where he spent his days fishing the Root River. It was from this space that the songs from On the Surface of the Creek emerged. Some re-imagined old poems, some new, all tied to the movement of our bodies through the world, how we each come to understand ourselves in our changing environments.
